Volunteer Spotlight: Don Huston

Growing up in the town of Bricelyn, MN, Don Huston is no stranger to small-town living. In 2010, Don and his wife Kathy moved to Byron, MN to be closer to family.

Don has embraced the town he now calls home, becoming involved in the Byron Lion Club, the Byron Chamber of Commerce, the Byron Community Foundation Board, and Byron Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a program of Family Service Rochester.

A year and a half ago, Don retired from Davies Printing Company, allowing him more time to volunteer and serve others. “I truly enjoy assisting the needs of the elderly with rides to medical appointments, various outside maintenance requests, lawn mowing, and snow blowing. I feel it’s very rewarding to see the smiles and hear the various stories from residents while on the way to and from appointments. I feel blessed to know they feel comfortable about sharing some personal conversations as well!”
