Family Service Rochester started an Endowment Fund at The Rochester Area Foundation(RAF) in 2006 under the name Family Service Rochester/Glenn & Ella VanLaningham Fund for Glen when he retired as Executive Director. It is for the sold purpose of Family Service Rochester, and is unrestricted. This fund continues to grow year after year with a spend rate determined by The RAF to either go back into the endowment, to our Donor Advised Fund, or to the non-profit.
An endowment fund signifies planning for the future of Family Service Rochester.
FSR has grown significantly over the past 60 years and The Endowment Fund helps us be sustainable into the future. We owe it to our founders, our volunteers, those we support and Rochester to be a sustainable organization for many years to come. This endowment allows us to support new programs and initiatives while sustaining existing ones. The staff at Family Service Rochester and the Rochester Area Foundation make it incredibly easy to give to our endowment and can give through either online organization. We trust the staff and board will do their best to ensure Family Service Rochester funds will be well invested.
