Chore and Support Services

 

Neighbors Helping Neighbors chore and support services help older adults and persons with disabilities with chores and other daily activities so they can remain living independently in their homes.

We screen all our volunteers and vendors. Sliding scale fees based on household income help to keep our services affordable.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors chore and support services are available in greater Olmsted and Rice Counties.

Common services include:

  • home maintenance (including minor plumbing)
  • grab bar installation
  • carpentry
  • interior/exterior painting
  • install/maintain smoke alarms
  • install and repair railings
  • roof and gutter repairs
  • install ramps
  • window cleaning
  • transportation
  • grocery order/delivery
  • housekeeping
  • seasonal clean-up
  • lawn care
  • snow removal
  • friendly visiting
  • packing/moving
  • pet care
  • and more

Services are available in Olmsted and Rice Counties.

Cost
Fees are determined by household income and service requested.

Volunteering with Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Volunteers use our online portal to register for needs that match their interests and work with their schedules. A member of our Senior Independence will provide the consumer's contact information for the volunteer to arrange a date and time to complete the task.

There is no minimum volunteer requirement. So lend a hand as your schedule allows!

Common volunteer opportunities include:
