For more than 60 years, volunteers have helped make our work possible. In fact, volunteers have been part of the fabric of our organization since our founding in 1965. Our programs rely on people who generously share their time and talents because they believe that every person deserves support, dignity, and connection.

Across Family Service Rochester, volunteers deliver Meals on Wheels, provide transportation to medical appointments, offer companionship to older adults, assist caregivers, support fundraising events, and contribute countless hours to programs that improve lives throughout our community. For many individuals, a volunteer may be the friendly face they see that day, the person who helps them stay connected, or the helping hand that makes an overwhelming situation feel manageable.

At the Family Resource Center, volunteers play an especially important role in supporting families. They help sort and organize donations, pack diapers and essential supplies, prepare resources for distribution, and ensure the center remains welcoming and ready to serve.
