The Rochester Athletic Club has been selected as the Volunteer Spotlight for February 2026 in recognition of its long-standing commitment to Meals on Wheels and the Rochester community. The club’s Meals on Wheels team is made up of its leadership group, with 14 directors representing every area of the organization, including Operations, Fitness, Member Services, Racket Sports, Aquatics, the Business Office, Thrive boutique, The Market deli, Youth Programming, and the Administrative team, which includes the Owner, General Manager, Assistant General Manager, and HR Director.

The Rochester Athletic Club has proudly delivered Meals on Wheels every Wednesday since 1993 as a way to give back and say thank you to the Rochester community. Team members rotate responsibility, with each leader serving two consecutive Wednesdays before passing the route to the next person. A yearly schedule is created in advance to ensure this commitment remains consistent and dependable.

For the team, the experience is both joyful and humbling. Meeting community members and helping in a meaningful, personal way reinforces the importance of connection and service. While there are many memorable moments, one stands out as especially meaningful: on Christmas Eve 2025, the club’s Fitness Director brought along his wife and five-year-old daughter so they could share in the joy of delivering meals. That moment captured the heart of what volunteering means to the Rochester Athletic Club which is service, generosity, and leading by example for the next generation.
