Judith describes herself as "localish". Born and raised in Rochester and Mankato, her path took her east for high school in Maryland. After "bouncing around" for a while after high school, she found her way back to Rochester.

Since friends and family had often asked Judith to help with taxes, she decided to put her natural skills with numbers to use. She enrolled at Winona State University and in 2017 earned her degree in Accounting. She joined FSR soon after graduation, starting out as an Accounting Assistant. Today, she works as an Accountant, helping ensure the organization stays financially strong ensuring clients continue to receive vital services.

Judith describes her role at FSR as having shifted over time. While she used to focus more directly on client accounts, her work now centers on keeping the organization itself running smoothly. “FSR has a really good mission,” she says, “and making sure it has the money available to serve clients feels pretty important.”

“It feels good to work at a place that is family-friendly,” she shares. As a married mom of five, flexibility is essential. She appreciates not having to choose between her kids and her career.

She also enjoys being part of an organization that continues to grow and evolve. From the start of the Family Resource Center to the expansion of programs, Judith values the way FSR finds new ways to help more people. Even while working remotely, she feels connected to the mission and team.

“I’m always learning new things,” she says. “There’s a lot of variety in the work, and that keeps it interesting.”
