Celebrating Our Commitment to Experience and Inclusion: Certified Age-Friendly Employer
We are proud to announce that we’ve been officially recognized as a Certified Age-Friendly Employer (CAFE) by the Age-Friendly Institute!
Family Service Rochester received this CAFE designation after an evaluation of its human resource and management policies and practices. We were evaluated against a “best practice” model of organizations recognized for retention and recruitment of workers ages 50 and up. The CAFE designation affirms our long-standing commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive workplace where talent from every generation can thrive—including those 50 and over. At a time when many organizations are navigating a rapidly changing workforce, we’ve made a deliberate investment in experienced professionals.

Employees aged 50+ bring with them a wealth of institutional knowledge, steady leadership, and trusted expertise that can’t be taught overnight. The Age Friendly Employer Certification program, which began in 2006, has been recognized by AARP and the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging. More than 230 of the largest U.S. employers have earned the CAFE designation. Recertification is completed every two years.
