Older Adult Mental Health

Good mental health helps us enjoy life more, handle difficult situations, and stay connected to family, friends, and our community.

Good mental health helps us keep our bodies strong, decrease hospitalizations, stay active, and live independently.

As we get older, we go through many life changes: the death of loved ones, retirement, health concerns, and other stressful life events.

It’s normal to feel uneasy, stressed, or sad about these changes. You might want to talk with someone if you are also experiencing:

  • Being easily upset.
  • Not having the energy to do things.
  • Changing sleep habits.
  • Increasing forgetfulness.
  • Changes in eating habits.
  • Crying a lot.
  • Being confused.
  • Believing that you cannot do anything worthwhile.
  • Staying alone a lot of the time.
  • Spending little or no time with friends or family.
  • Feeling hopeless or overwhelmed.

Our counselors can help you move through life changes that are troubling you.

We provide:

  • Comprehensive assessments.
  • Goal setting.
  • Individual, group, and family counseling.

In addition to our mental health services, we offer other support for older adults who want to remain in their homes - healthy, safe, and secure. These programs include chore services, transportation, Meals on Wheels, and other support.
