Volunteer Spotlight: Jerome Permann

Generous, kind, and helpful with a good listening ear are a few ways our consumers have described volunteer Jerome Permann. After seeing a news segment on volunteer needs, Jerome, a retired truck driver, joined the FSR volunteer team delivering Meals on Wheels. In addition to Meals on Wheels, Jerome assists with transportation, lawn mowing, and yard work.

"I volunteer because it gives me a sense of fulfillment in helping others in whatever their current situation. Besides, it keeps me busy and moving." A few things Jerome learned through volunteering are empathy for other's needs, lessons on being a team player, and time management.

Outside of volunteering, Jerome is married with four children, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild. He enjoys traveling, sightseeing, fishing, golf, billiards, and yard work.
