Many older adults find physical challenges in caring for their homes. Minor household chores can have significant safety implications. Often finding a service to complete these minor tasks can be challenging and/or costly. Skilled volunteers provide minor household maintenance and repair for individuals in Olmsted County. Common needs are: grab bar installation, changing batteries in smoke alarms, light carpentry and yard work. Other services provided include light housekeeping, grocery shopping, running errands and more. We focus on providing non-medical services that will help older adults remain living safely in their own homes. Services are available to individuals age 60 or older residing in Olmsted County.
This service is available on a cost-sharing basis to individuals ages 60 and older (fees are determined based on ability to pay). Individuals under age 60 may also access this service for $25/hour.
