Provides management, supervision and oversite within assigned program areas. Includes staff supervision, program development, achieving program outcomes, evaluation and collaboration with collaborative partners. Further, the position ensures that services are responsive to client, community, and volunteer needs incorporating best practices consistent with professional standards and ethics.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Provide strategic guidance to teams in ways that promote the company’s culture. Manage teams to effectively and efficiently achieve program results as articulated in grants, contracts, and organization plans. Ensure staff receive support, training and evaluations and develop goals that assures performance is congruent with program purpose and modality.
Assure assigned program personnel adhere to the program and agency personnel policies and procedures. Assess program performance to ensure all are meeting established agency and contracted goals of program performance and budget expectations.
Apply change, risk and resource management and actively engage in problem-solving to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Coordinate cross program activities which maximize resources.
Maintain close liaison with supervisor, collaborative partners, community agencies, vendors, and the community-at-large as related to the programs assigned.
Provide direct services to clients consistent with needs of assigned programs as agreed upon with the supervisor.
Other duties and responsibilities
1. Participate in supervisor meetings and other meetings as directed.
2. Work a schedule that is responsive to client, volunteer, and staff availability, which may include occasional weekend and evening hours.
3. Stay abreast of best practices, regulations, and licensure requirements within the assigned program areas.
4. Assist with resource development.
5. All other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Supervise assigned program staff working within the assigned programs. Coordinate supervision with other program managers in collaborative programs to best serve the development and performance of employees.
Training and Experience:
Master’s degree in a human service field plus eligibility for licensure in the State of Minnesota for independent practice in social work is preferred. Must have three years of professional experience plus demonstrable competence in managing staff of different disciplines to produce results in a timely manner. Skilled in written and verbal communications and in working with individuals and groups.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and skills in leadership. Skilled in working effectively with all client, volunteer, and professional populations. Ability to work in a demanding, face-paced environment. Ability to work as part of multiple teams and effectively communicate with colleagues, co-workers and clients. Must possess computer literacy in word processing, data bases, and spreadsheet software.
Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation covered by insurance to use for work purposes. Willingness and ability to work additional time if needed to meet critical deadlines. Share weekend staffing responsibilities for Meals on Wheels.
Must be able to regularly talk, hear, sit, and perform keystrokes to enter data with reasonable speed to insure work is completed. Requires physical ability to routinely handle normal office materials and tools including filing, lifting and reaching; ability to move throughout office areas to complete work assignments.
Regular exposure to normal office environment and private home environment, that may include smoking and pets, is required. Ability to drive in inclement weather.
