Position exists to support the efficient operations of the Meals on Wheels (MOW) and Neighbors Helping Neighbors (NHN) programs in a team setting.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Responsible for providing coordination of the MOW program and coordination and assistance with aspects of NHN program. Duties include completing daily tasks and ensuring ongoing operations and delivery of MOW program, scheduling and matching volunteers and responding to consumer and volunteer concerns.
1. Complete required documentation and billing accurately and within established timelines.
2. Recruit, coordinate, and match MOW and NHN volunteers.
3. Conduct initial MOW intake, document eligibility, and identify additional consumer needs.
4. Schedule initial home visit within 1 month of enrollment. Insure MOW reassessments are scheduled and occur no less than annually.
5. Complete reassessments where appropriate.
6. Identify and implement outreach strategies to generate an ongoing referral stream of older adults who would benefit from home meal delivery and other community services provided by FSR.
7. As part of team, determine outcomes for MOW and NHN consumers.
8. Participate in volunteer recruitment, satisfaction, and retention strategies.
Other duties and responsibilities:
1. Participate in team meetings and supervisory meetings as scheduled.
2. Provide on-call and direct support to MOW and NHN programs.
3. Work a schedule that is responsive to program needs, which includes some evenings and rotating weekends for Meals on Wheels. Occasional seasonal weekend for NHN.
4. Attend trainings to advance skills, maintain licensure (if applicable) and stay relevant in the field.
5. Other duties as assigned.
Training, experience, qualifications:
4 year college degree preferred. Associates Degree in human services, administrative support or related field with two years of work experience in a human service environment, or the equivalent training and experience is required. Experience working with older adults, people with disabilities, and volunteers preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Possess the ability to work effectively with diverse populations; to work within a team environment; effectively communicate with colleagues, co-workers, volunteers, and clients. Must possess computer literacy.
Must be able to work an established schedule designed to best meet program needs, which include some evenings and weekends. Must have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation to use for work purposes.
Must be able to regularly speak, hear, sit, and perform keystrokes to accurately enter data with reasonable speed to ensure work is completed. Requires physical ability to routinely handle normal office materials and tools including frequently filing, lifting, and reaching; and have the ability to move throughout office. Lift and carry containers weighing up to 25 lbs.
Regular exposure to normal office environments, supplies and office machines. Regular exposure to the outside weather that includes high and low temperatures, snow, rain, sun, etc.
