Older adults may find physical challenges in caring for their homes. Minor household chores can have significant safety implications. Health and safety can be compromised by putting off home repairs, housecleaning, lawn care, and snow removal. Finding a service to complete these minor tasks can be challenging and costly.
Neighbors Helping Neighbors Chore Services helps older adults and persons with disabilities with tasks around the house/apartment and yard so they can remain living independently. We assess all volunteers and vendors. Sliding scale fees based on income makes services affordable.
Common chores include home maintenance (minor plumbing, grab bar installation, carpentry, interior/exterior painting, smoke alarms, railings, roof and gutter repairs, ramps, window replacement); transportation; grocery order/delivery; housekeeping; seasonal clean-up; lawn care; snow removal; friendly visiting; packing/moving; pet care; and more. Services are available in Olmsted County, greater Faribault, and Owatonna.
